Marine 18 is a 24' Boston Whaler Justice Rescue Boat. The vessel was orginally powered by a single 275 Mercury outboard motor and featured an on board fire/dewatering pump that was piped through the hull. Marine 18 is set up primarily for rescue operations with multiple throw bags to reach victims in the water and EMS equipment to provide aid on the river. Additionally, the vessel is set up to tow disabled vessels out of harms way.
In late 2019, Marine 18 was placed out of service and repowered with twin 150HP Yahama motors and all new electronics and navigation software.
Marine 18 is the primary rescue unit to respond on river rescue's in our area of the Delaware River as well as on mutual aid calls to the Christina River, Port of Wilmington, the C and D Canal, and the Salem River.
