In May of 1968, the fire company approved the purchase of a Mack pumper with a John Beam high pressure pump. The cost of the unit was $42,927. In November 1969, a motion was made and seconded to place a plaque on the pumper in memory of member Gerald Paul Keenan who died in a fire at his residence earlier that year. The pumper was in service until early 1981 when it was sold to a fire company in North Carolina.
