In the afternoon of Friday March 17, Engine 18 was alerted as a part of the box alarm for a Commercial Structure Fire at the Texas Road House on Pulaski highway in Bear. Chief 21 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing from the roof just after dispatch. Engine 18 made an immediate response and arrived as the third due engine assuming the RIT duties. Engine 18 was quickly reassigned to establish a second water supply and stretch the 400' hand line into the kitchen area. Engine 18's crew worked with interior crews opening up the hood system and extinguishing the fire above the ceiling. The crew operated for just under 90 minutes before clearing.
