First Due Box Alarm

Sunday afternoon the box alarm was struck for William Penn Village Apartments for a report of smoke in the building. Squad and Ladder 18 made the response. Upon arrival, the Squad crew established a water supply and stretched a line. The Ladder arrived and positioned on the A/D corner. Investigating crews found an extinguished outside fire in the mulch bed in front of the building. A draft pulled the smoke into the building and filled the hallway. Assisting units included Minquas Engine 23, Christiana Engine and Ladder 12, Holloway Terrace Rescue 20 and Delaware City Engine 15.
