18 Marine 1 Responds to Two Water Rescue's in Five Hours

Monday evening, 18 Marine 1 was alerted to assist Delaware City on a person found in the water. Delaware City Fireboat 15 arrived and recovered the patient and began CPR. 18 Marine 1 arrived and moved to the shore line to pick up the New Castle County Paramedics to transport them to Fireboat 15. Once transferred, the crew stood by while the patient was transported.
Later in the evening, the rescue boat was alerted to assist Holloway Terrace on a rescue at the Delaware Memorial Bridge. 18 Marine 1 arrived in the area and began a search. Additional rescue boats from Holloway Terrace, City of Wilmington, and Minquas of Newport along with DSP Trooper 4 arrived and began searching as well. All searches of the area proved negative and units later cleared.
