This afternoon, 18 Marine 1 was alerted to assist Holloway Terrace with 5 people in the water in the Delaware River just South of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. MRU 18 and 18 Marine 1 made a quick response to the 3rd Street boat ramp where 18 Marine 1 was launched. After a short response, 18 Marine 1 arrived in the area and found one victim still in the water and the others on the Pennsville Jetty making with way to shore. During this time, shore based crews were assisting 20 Marine 1 with launching from the 3rd Street boat ramp as well. The victim was removed from the water and checked for injuries before being moved to shore for further evaluation. 18 Marine 1 then returned to the area to retrieve the kayaks that overturned, placing the victims in the water. Once the kayaks were secured on the shore, 18 Marine 1 and 20 Marine 1 returned to the boat ramp.
