Extinguished Kitchen Fire in Jefferson Farms Community

Just after 1am Friday morning, the box alarm was struck for the unit block of Montpielier Blvd for a Residential Fire. Engine and Ladder 18 responded along with Chief 18. Chief 18 arrived to find smoke coming from the front door and an extinguished kitchen fire. Engine 18 arrived and stretched a hand line into the kitchen to find a stove top fire that extended up to the cabinets. The crews completed searches, opened up, and ventilated the residence. The assignment was reduced to Good Will units who cleared shortly later. Working smoke detectors in the home alerted the residents to the fire and allowed them to exit the home.
