Vehicle vs House with Fire

Just after midnight, Engine 18 was alerted to an outside fire in the rear of a house on Valley Forge Road in Penn Acres South. Upon responding, Fireboard advised that they received additional calls reporting a vehicle fire against the house. Engine 18’s officer requested the box be filled. Ladder 18 and Chief 18 also responded. Upon arrival, Engine 18 reported a vehicle against the home on fire with extension. Engine and Ladder 18 operated as the first due engine and special service company respectively. Chief 18 had the New Castle Command. Box alarm units from Minquas Fire Company #1, Christiana Fire, Minquadale Fire Company, Station 22, and Wilmington Manor arrived and assisted. It was determined that the vehicle collided with the home after coming off of Basin Road. The scene was quickly brought under control and turned over to Delaware State Police for investigation.
