This evening, after 7 long months, Squad 18 was placed back into service. Members completed final equipment transfers and tool mounting tonight to complete the project.
Some of the work completed includes the following:
-Body, tank, and pump removed
-Frame sandblasted and repainted
-Body rust repairs completed
-Cab corrosion repairs completed
-Rebuild water tank frame (severely rotted)
-Install 12V brow and side scene lights
-Reroute discharge to rear of unit for a second dedicated handling discharge
-Added rear emergency lighting
-Completely repainted to match Engine 18
-Repairs to light tower
-Added high pressure air bags, Hi-Lift rescue jacks, a TL-9 stabilization device, and misc other equipment
-Reorganized and remounted equipment
