Compactor Fire at Good Will Industries

Around 6pm on Wednesday 5/22, Good Will and mutual aid units were alerted to the Good Will Industries on Centerpoint Blvd in New Castle. Squad and Chief 18 made the response. While responding, Fireboard advised that the fire was reported to be in the trash compactor. Units arrived and found smoke coming from the compactor and dumpster along with smoke in the building. The crew from the Squad placed a line in service. Additional units arrived and assisted with setting up ventilation and disconnecting the dumpster from the compactor. Once disconnected, the remainder of the burnt material was removed from the compactor. Units operated on scene for over 90 minutes before clearing.
