4th of July brings Working Fire
Saturday, July 4, 2020

On July 4th, Good-Will stayed busy responded to several calls for service.

Engine 18 was alerted for a Dumpster Fire in the William Penn Village Apartments. The Fire was found to be caused by fireworks. E18 operated 30 minutes controling the fire.

Later in the evening, Engine 18 was alerted for bushes on fire. While responding, the Fireboard upgraded the call with reports that the fire was spreading to the home. Engine 18 arrived and found fire advancing into the home, autoextending from bushes on fire next to the home. Engine 18 laid a supply line and quickly knocked the fire. Searches were negative and there were no injuries. Assistant Chief 18 had the New Castle Command. Crews operated for just over an hour. The Fire Marshals Office found the cause to be fireworks.
