Overturned Sail Boat in the Delaware River

Around 5:45pm, the communications center and the fire station started receiving multiple calls reporting an overturned sail boat in the Delaware River. Marine unit's made an immediate response to the third street boat ramp there 18 Marine 1 was launched and began searching for the craft. The vessel was quickly located overturned with two subjects clinging to the vessel. One rescue swimmer entered the water and assisted the subjects to the rescue boat where crew members brough...t them aboard. The victims were taken back to Third Street where they were taken ashore and checked for injuries. After dropping the victims off, 18 Marine 1 responded back to the scene where they attempted to right the boat with the assistance of Delaware City Volunteer Fire Company, No. 1, Inc., Station 15 Fireboat 15. The vessel was brought back to shore where it was secured by the New Castle Sailing Club. Other assisting companies included Holloway Terrace Fire Co. And Port Penn Fire Co
